Proposed Re-shoot

After showing my teacher the first rough edit of my music video, I recieved some feedback in order to improve it. The main thing she stated was that some of the footage was shaky and I should make more use of the tripod. While I still have a lot of footage that I took in November, I have decided to re-film some of the shots during February half term, along with some new footage I deem appropriate. The date is not yet confirmed, but it'll be sometime in between the 17th and the 23rd of February. Fortunately, I only have one actress that I need to get in touch with, so one of these dates should be applicable.

First Draft: Music Video

Since completing my main set of filming in December, I have been experimenting with the editing program Final Cut Pro. Before starting work on my first draft, I thought it appropriate to give myself time to get used to the software so I will be able to edit more effectively. I experimented with the transitions, effects and cuts, which enabled me to see what worked and what didn't. I fully edited the first verse and chorus in detail, and then filled the rest of the video with footage I deemed appropriate for further editing. Before I started work on my first draft, I received feedback from my teacher on the work I've done so far. She was satisfied with what I had done so far (the overall style) but she noted that some footage was a bit too shaky, which made it look unprofessional and more amateur. I've taken this advice into consideration as I plan to refilm a lot of my footage to ensure that my video will be the best it can be.

Ancillary planning #1

After doing some research into current ancillary texts or album covers, I have starting planning my own. The first thing I decided to create was the album's name/title. I had previously decided to name the album after the song I was making the music video for. Since it has the word 'Fire' in it, it gave me the perfect opportunity to create a unique font to present it. After much online research I found a complex tutorial on how to make text look like fire in Photoshop. I followed this tutorial and the finished title is below. I am very happy with how it turned out and I aim to use it in one of my ancillary texts.

Here is the link to the tutorial I used to create this effect:

DigiPak Template

This is the template I will use to create my digipak that will link with my music video and artist. I aim to create some drafts of this with existing photos before I make my own with the photos I took whilst filming the music video.
